Invitation

Polish Logistics Congress LOGISTICS & EUROLOG 2010  will be held in Poznań from 12-14 May 2010.

This year's event will be the tenth edition of the biannual event attracting large numbers of Polish logisticians. The number of participants has consistently increased with the last Congress in 2008 attended by more than 800 people, many of whom were foreign participants. Next year's jubilee event will have an even more international dimension. This is because it will be organized along with EUROLOG 2010 - the Logistics Congress of the European Logistics Association (ELA).

EUROLOG conferences have been held since 1992, initially every two years, and annually since 2002. The forthcoming EUROLOG Congress will be the thirteenth event. Every year the Management Board of the European Logistics Association (ELA) selects the host of the EUROLOG Congress. EUORLOG is always combined with the largest local logistics conference. The decision to entrust the Polish Logistics Society and the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing in Poznań with the organization of the EUROLOG 2010 Congress was taken in a meeting of ELA Management Board on 27 March 2009 in Budapest. Key reasons supporting this decision were the opinions of those ELA Management Board members who, since 2004, had participated in previous Polish Logistics Congress LOGISTICS at the invitation of the Polish Logistics Association. They evaluated both the competence level and the organizational aspect of the events very positively. Also of importance were the ever growing number of participants making LOGISTICS one of the largest European logistics events of this type.

LOGISTICS-EUROLOG 2010 is organized by: the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing in Poznań and the Polish Logistics Society under the aegis of the European Logistics Association.

Next year's event will be entitled: The Logistics Challenge - flexibility, sustainability, innovation. Its aim is to draw attention of the importance of logistics for the European economy and its competitiveness in global markets: logistics is understood as harmonized, able to quickly respond to changeable environments and customers' needs, innovative, quickly absorbing the results of developmental works, and at the same time reasonably environmentally friendly.

The framework of the Congress will be similar to that of previous events with two days of presentations and discussions in plenary and special topic sessions accompanied by a logistics exhibition (Wednesday 12 - Thursday 13 May ) and specific issue workshops (Friday 14 May ). Additionally, on Friday 14 May, a Research Day session will take place as an accompanying event to the EUROLOG Conference. Such a session presents the achievements of European scientific centres (both academic and R&D) and was previously known as the Educators Day. The changed name is to emphasize a more research-based approach rather than the purely educational aspects.

As usual on Thursday 13 May, once the discussions are finished, it will be possible to join one of several technical visits to leading modern logistics and production companies in Poznań. The Congress will offer excellent opportunities for business and social meetings, refreshing old business relations and establishing new ones. Appropriate conditions for this important networking will be ensured by the organizers!

The conference and exhibition (12 and 13 May ) will be held, as usual, at the Conference Centre of Poznań International Fair. Complete simultaneous translation (Polish into English and English into Polish) of the plenary and special topic sessions is guaranteed. Workshops and discussions on the Research Day (Friday 14 May) will be held at the Competence Centre of the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing. Workshops will be held in Polish, whereas English will be the discussion language of Research Day sessions.

We wish to take this opportunity to invite all parties interested in this international logistics event to visit Poznań in May 2010. See you in Poznań.
