Conference of the KASSETTS project (EU Central Europe ETCP) "Trends in development of IT tools for logistics"
Kassetts is a project aiming to support joint organization of transport processes by SME groups. During the conference, a number of international experts will outline the functionalities of selected electronic solutions for logistics and present trends for their future development. Results of real-life tests conducted at enterprises will be presented to highlight benefits of using a tool supporting joint organization of transport by company groups. Participants will also have a chance to become familiar with the concept of the European Transport Policy. In addition, the conference will enable participants to test the solution developed in the Kassetts Project on their own.The event is dedicated both to practitioners, i.e. representatives of manufacturing, distribution and logistics companies, and organizations operating in the business environment and authorities from all European countries. The international conference focused on Kassetts is funded by the European Commission (under the Central Europe programme).

Marcin Hajdul, ILiM, Poland

Deputy Head of Logistic Expertise Department at the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing. Graduated Poznan University of Technology, specialization of road transportation Faculty of Working Machines and Transportation. Good experience in team work and team management, acquired in the course of numerous projects and as a member of Scientific Society of Mechanics at Poznan University of Technology. Member of the board of the Polish Logistics Association (PTL); Member of the Scientific Society of Mechanics at Poznan University of Technology, section: transport. At ILiM he is involved in the research projects, EU projects and commercial projects as well. He has participated and managed several projects of EU’s Framework Programme, including those co-funded by FP5, FP6, FP7, INTERREG IIIB&C. At the moment he is working on his PhD thesis concerning organization of transport processes according to the concept of sustainable development.
The way forward with RFID/EPC in DHL across Europe
Keith Ulrich, DHL, Germany
Dr. Keith Ulrich has been significantly involved in the set-up of the Department for Solution & Innovation Management of Deutsche Post DHL. Today he is the Head of the Research & Innovation Department which embraces comprehensive technology projects, the DHL Innovation Center as well as the patent management of DHL. Dr. Ulrich has been with Deutsche Post AG since 2000  and was initially in charge of the Capital Market Department. In addition to supporting the IPO of Deutsche Post, he was also responsible for the first rating as well as the first issue of bonds.

Frank Knoors - Sequoyah, Belgium
Managing director of Sequoyah NV, dealing with multiple facets of e-commerce, ranging from strategy development to business process re-engineering to enabling technologies to deployment and service management. He has been and is involved in several European Integrated Projects: Freightwise, Moses, Smart-CM and e-Freight. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Logit Systems AS, a software company specialized in supply chain execution and commercial ship management and a member of the Board of Directors of ICSO npo (non-profit organization), the International Cargo Security Organization.
ICT for transport and logistics competitiveness
Maurizio Campanai, Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy

Senior advisor in ICT projects on Multimodal Chain Management. He graduated in Electronic Engineering at “Universita degli Studi di Firenze” and continued his studies in software engineering, interoperability in ICT and ICT for logistics. Since 1991 to 2001 he was responsible of ICT department in CESVIT High Technology Agency, working on R&D projects. Since 2002 he is working with Regione Emilia Romagna in managing projects about ICT for Transport and Logistics. He participated and coordinated several research projects funded by the European Commission over FP2, FP3, FP4, FP5, and FP6 in different domains. Main competence area: Software Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies for transport and logistics, business process reengineering.

Proxy of the Director of the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing in charge of Logistics. Head of the Logistics Information and Computer Science Department at the Poznań School of Logistics and Head of postgraduate studies ‘Enterprise and Supply Chain Operational Management. Logistics Manager’. Author of numerous publications, books, research projects regarding operational controlling, logistic planning and supply chain management. Representative of Poland at the e-Business Board of the European Commission. Member of the Polish Committee for Standardisation and of the Polish Logistics Association. Lecturer at many higher education institutions in Poland.

Alberto Preti, ITL, Italy
Graduated in Economics at Bocconi University in Milan - Italy. Head of the Bologna Branch of the Institute for Transport and Logistics – ITL. President of the European Network of Logistics Competence Centers. He has working experience in the logistics management in industrial companies and in research and consultancy in public administrations. Since 2001 he has successfully managed project applications to UE funds and he is experienced in their financial and administrative management. He manages complex projects at national and international level in the following domains: freight transport and relevant public policies, industrial logistics, supply chain management, co-modality, TEN-T networks, city logistics.

Flavio Bonfatti, University of Modena and Reggio-Emilia, Italy

Received the doctoral degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bologna in 1970. In 1971-1983 he was a researcher at the Man-Computer Interaction Research Centre and in 1983-1990 he was Director of the same Centre. Since 1983 he is associate professor of Software Engineering and lecturer of Industrial Informatics at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. His research interests include knowledge representation, service-oriented applications, and SME networking. He has been, and presently is, scientific responsible in a number of national and international projects, the latter pertaining the IST, Capacities, CIP and INTERREG programmes.
