Session C3 - Modern warehouse in flexible supply chains

The session devoted to warehousing and warehouse storage will be focused on the development of warehouse infrastructure in Poland. In line with the leading theme of the Congress, participants of the session will become familiar with current challenges faced by the warehousing sector. Measures improving warehouse operations flexibility will be outlined. Innovative solutions will be presented, including both latest development in warehouse equipment, techniques and methods for advanced and complex warehouse monitoring and security systems, and modern solutions supporting stock management incorporating innovative tools.

Aleksander Niemczyk - Instytut Logistyki i Magazynowania

Deputy Commercial Director at the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing. Lecturer at the Poznań School of Logistics and the Logistics Education Centre. Manages and supervises research and development works focused on the needs of national and foreign enterprises. In his research works, he primarily tackles the issues of supply chain management, warehousing and the application of automatic identification and IT systems. Author of numerous publications. Active participant in many national and international conferences.

Product Manager at C&C Partners Telecom Sp. z o.o. in Leszno. Author of a range of projects, concepts of protection systems for various types of facilities (administration buildings, warehouses, hospitals, prisons, industrial plants). He is responsible for the launch of advanced security management systems and specialist closed circuit security systems on the Polish market. His professional experience has been extended by participation in numerous product training sessions conducted at manufacturers of security systems in Poland and abroad. Designer of Alarm Systems, Class SA1-SA4, and Structured Cabling Systems.

Gordon Smith - SDI Group Poland
Gordon Smith has spent the last 20 years with involvement in automated projects for manufacturers, retailers  and 3PL’s. As the CEO of SDI Group, he has grown and developed a Material Handling Equipment business which supplies Design and Build services for Automated facilities to Retailers across Europe, and employs over 250 people. Over this period, the business has completed over 150  automation projects ranging in size from 250,000 Euros to €12M, and this collection of experience has given insight into when projects are most likely to succeed.

Ryszard Sobański - PKN ORLEN SA
Since 1996, worked for Petrochemia Płock SA (currently Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA). Headed the following departments: Supply Processing Department, Logistics & Procurement Department and Logistics Support Department. Since 2009, Purchases Operating Support Department Director responsible for procurement of logistics services for PKN ORLEN and its Capital Group, warehouses in ORLEN CG, processing of orders and settlement of purchase transactions. He completed a series of projects within the company. The most important include: the centralisation of logistics purchases in ORLEN CG, the organisation of the VITAY prize distribution system at ORLEN petrol stations, the restructuring of materials warehouses. Currently, implementing a project involving the optimisation of levels of materials stored as inventories and the centralisation of warehousing in the ORLEN Capital Group.
Future Intralogistics – With its extended product range and innovative logistics concepts STILL has developed from a truck maker to a full intralogistics provider.
