Session C2 - New developments in Supply Chain Practice

Proper supply chain management remains a key factor determining competitive advantage on growing markets. It is particularly important in critical situations such as the recent economic downturn. Greater significance is being attached to: cooperation, flexibility and easy adaptability to ever-changing conditions. At the same time, sustainable solutions, based not only on economic gain but taking into account environmental and social aspects, are growing in importance. The session will present the best European practices applied in this area of activity.

Prof. Hans-Christian Pfohl - TU Darmstadt, European Logistics Association

Head of the Management Faculty at Technische Universiteat Darmstadt. Awarded an honorary degree from the Veszprem University in Hungary (1996). He has been cooperating with businesses and consulting companies in preparing reports on the condition of logistics and logistics education in Europe. He has initiated a number of European research projects. He has been a Member of the European Logistics Association Board and the chairperson of the Research & Development Committee of this organization for many years. Author of numerous academic handbooks on logistics. His two books “Systemy logistyczne” (“Logistics Systems”) and “Zarządzanie logistyką” (“Logistics Management”) have been published in Poland by the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing.

It has more than 220 members. Logistics in Wallonia is a private initiative but got support in the framework of a global plan to stimulate the Walloon economy. Previously, he was Consultant International Trade at the Chambers of Commerce of Maastricht (the Netherlands) and Liège (Belgium).

Sławomir Błotny - Raben Management Services  Sp. z o.o.

He is the Vice President of the Board at Raben Management Services Sp. z o.o. and Key Accounts Director of the Raben Group. He worked at the Sales Department of SmithKline Beecham for almost 3 years. After the merger with Sterling Health, as the Key Account Manager, he was responsible for the Northern Poland region. He started working for the Raben Group in 1995. He created an effective sales department at Raben Polska from scratch, using his experience from the FMCG market. At present, he is responsible for the development of the Raben Group, especially in Central and Eastern Europe. He deals with the most important tenders and the development of cooperation with Key Accounts.
